With Christmas just around the corner then it’s time to start planning! Join us at The Cottage Loaf this Christmas for a warm, relaxing and friendly festive celebration.

A cracking Christmas

We feature some great Christmas guest ales that are brewed just for the season along with steaming mulled wine. Mix these with our roaring open fire, our cosy surroundings and our friendly bar team, and we really have a recipe for a fantastic Christmas.

As always, there’ll be a lively and friendly atmosphere full of festive cheer making it the perfect place for your Christmas celebrations.

Menu

We won't be having a set Christmas menu as such but instead having lots of yummy festive specials on our every day menu throughout December for you to choose from.

To start to get you in the Christmas mood we thought we'd tease you with our special festive dishes that will be appearing on our menu come December alongside your pub favourites:

Starters

Classic French onion soup with Swiss Gruyere and thyme toast (v)
Chicken liver, brandy and port parfait, apricot and date chutney with toasted sourdough (gfo)
Wild mushroom and mozzarella arancini with spiced pear chutney, black cherry and cranberry granola (vg)
House smoked duck breast, roasted beetroot and chicory salad finished with toasted hazelnuts and beetroot relish
Atlantic prawn and smoked trout cocktail with gem lettuce, celery, pickled radish, cucumber and harvester bloomer

Mains

Roast crown of turkey, braised turkey leg crispy croquette, pigs in blanket, apricot and sage stuffing,
goose fat roast potatoes, buttered new potatoes, honey roast carrots and parsnips, buttered Brussel sproutsand rich turkey gravy
Baked fillet of plaice with brown shrimp, mussels and parsley cream sauce, sauteed new potatoes, stem broccoli and samphire
Crispy pork belly, root vegetable potato gratin, sticky red cabbage, French beans, cider and grain mustard jus and crackling
Braised feather blade of beef, roasted garlic and horseradish mash, roasted carrots and swede, kale, honey glazed pearl onions and red wine jus
Oven baked butternut squash, chestnut mushroom and cranberry nut roast with roasted potatoes, carrots and parsnips, served with sticky red cabbage, parsnip crisps and wild mushroom and sage gravy (vg)

Desserts

Homemade Christmas pudding, brandy sauce, cranberry and redcurrant jam
Roasted plum and cinnamon trifle, caramelised pecans, plum and brandy syrup
Sticky toffee and date pudding with toffee sauce, honeycomb ice cream and honeycomb shards
Chocolate black cherry and hazelnut brownie with black cherry Kirsch compôte, amaretto and black cherry ice cream
Mulled apple and blackberry crumble, toasted almonds and vegan vanilla ice cream (vg)
Selection of cheese served with biscuits, Bara Birth, celery, grapes and spiced apple and sultana chutney:
Snowdonia amber mist - warming notes of Scotch whisky combined with mouthwatering mature cheddar, Perl Wen and Stilton blue cheese

Wines & Champagnes

Deposits

For tables of 9+ people, a £10 non refundable deposit is required.

Large Party Bookings

Our online booking system will allow bookings for a maximum of 12 people. If you would like to book for more than this then please give the pub a call on 01492 870 762 to discuss your requirements.
