Throughout December, our menu will have lots of yummy festive specials for you to choose from.
To start to get you in the Christmas mood we thought we'd tease you with our special festive dishes that will be appearing on our menu come December alongside your pub favourites:
Starters
Cream of white onion and cider soup with a side of Welsh rarebit toastie (v, vgo)
Chicken liver and brandy parfait served with fig and kumquat chutney and toasted brioche (gfo)
Goats cheese bon bons with toffee apple ketchup, cranberry & hazelnut crumble and confit tomatoes (v)
Crispy duck pancakes with hoi sin sauce, cucumber, spring onion and Asian slaw
Smoked salmon and tempura king prawn cocktail with baby gem, Bloody Mary sauce, paprika and lemon
Mains
Roast crown of turkey, braised turkey leg crispy croquette, pigs in blanket, cranberry and chestnut stuffing, goose fat roast potatoes, buttered new potatoes, honey roast carrots and parsnips, buttered Brussel sprouts and rich turkey gravy (gfo)
Baked fillet of hake with leek and saffron risotto, braised fennel and tarragon and parmesan crumb (gfo)
Crispy pork belly, black pudding potato rosti, celeriac remoulade, celeriac purée, tender stem broccoli and cider jus (gfo)
Braised shoulder of lamb, dauphinoise potatoes, sticky red cabbage, rosemary roasted carrot, tender stem broccoli and minted redcurrant jus (gf)
Bombay potato, spinach and chickpea filo pie with fried winter greens in cumin butter, tomato, onions and bhuna masala tomato sauce (vg)
Desserts
Homemade luxury Christmas pudding with brandy sauce and cranberry and redcurrant jam
Raspberry, almond and sherry trifle (vg, gf)
Sticky toffee and date pudding with toffee sauce, toasted pecans and rum and raisin ice cream (gfo)
Dark chocolate brownie, chocolate mousse with toffee popcorn ice cream
Orange marmalade panettone bread and butter pudding with vanilla custard

Gorwydd Caerphilly cheese, Pantmawr smoked Perl Las, and Perl Wen

We will happily suggest some options for wines and champagnes if you would like to organise these in advance of your party, please just ask if you want some help choosing!
Deposits
For tables of 10 or more people, a £10 non refundable deposit is required.
Large Party Bookings & Pre Orders
For parties of up to 13 people, you will be able to order on the day (no pre order required).
For parties of 13 or more people you will be asked to pre order from the above menu. Pre orders will be emailed out to you in advance.
Our online booking system will allow bookings for a maximum of 12 people. If you would like to book for more than this then please give the pub a call on 01492 870 762 to discuss your requirements.
Large Party Service Charge - Just to make you aware, for tables of 13 or more we add a discretionary 10% service charge of which all goes to the team. We understand the difficulty in adding a tip when you’re in a big group, around the who, what, when and how much. So we’ve added it for you, however, should you wish not to leave a tip, please ask your server to remove it and we will, with pleasure, no questions asked.
