Festive celebrations at the Loaf

With Christmas just around the corner then it’s time to start planning! Join us at The Cottage Loaf this Christmas for a warm, relaxing and friendly festive celebration.


A cracking Christmas

We feature some great Christmas guest ales that are brewed just for the season along with steaming mulled wine. Mix these with our roaring open fire, our cosy surroundings and our friendly bar team, and we really have a recipe for a fantastic Christmas.

As always, there’ll be a lively and friendly atmosphere full of festive cheer making it the perfect place for your Christmas celebrations.


This year we are doing things slightly different, we won't be having a set Christmas menu as such but instead having lots of yummy festive specials on our every day menu throughout December for you to choose from.

To start to get you in the Christmas mood we thought we'd tease you with our special festive dishes that will be appearing on our menu come December alongside your pub favourites:


Caramelised white onion and cider soup with Swiss Emmental cheese and sage toast (v) 6.95
Duck liver, brandy and port parfait with smoked bacon jam and toasted brioche 8.45
Roasted beetroot and vegan mozzarella arancini, tomato, red pepper and chilli chutney and crispy kale (vg) 7.95
Pan-seared pigeon breast, wild mushroom and thyme pearl barley, black cherry and red wine jus 8.95
Smoked trout, salmon and crab fishcake, pickled fennel and cucumber salad, lemon and dill crème fraiche 8.95


Roast crown of turkey, braised turkey leg crispy croquette, pigs in blanket, apricot and sage stuffing, goose fat roast potatoes, buttered new potatoes, honey roast carrots and parsnips, buttered Brussel sprouts and rich turkey gravy 19.50
Baked fillet of hake, with creamy curried Morecombe bay mussel and spinach tagliatelle, tempura king prawn and samphire 22.50

Pre Orders

If you are booking a table for more than 8 people then we will need a pre order from you no later than 2 days before your booking, this can be done online and will be emailed across to you in advance.

Wines & Champagnes

We will happily suggest some options for wines and champagnes if you would like to organise these in advance of your party, please just ask if you want some help choosing! View our WINE LIST.

Large Party Bookings

Our online booking system will allow bookings for a maximum of 12 people. If you would like to book for more than this then please give the pub a call on 01492 870 762 to discuss your requirements.
