Being situated on the coast, Llandudno and surrounding areas offer some fantastic walks.

After a good walk then you are sure to need a nice refreshing drink and a filling bite to eat so join us at the Loaf for a spot of lunch, a steaming cuppa or a well deserved pint or two.

Pub Walk 1: Great Orme Nature Trail

Pub Walk 1: Great Orme Nature Trail

Approximately 2 hours

The Great Orme is a wonderful place for wildlife and flowers. The route starts and finishes at the summit (right by the carpark) and the trail is clearly waymarked.

What kind of walk is it?

  • Paths: Grassy paths, tracks and roads. The paths are steep in places, so good walking shoes and boots are recommended
  • Distance: 6.5 km/4 miles (longer route) or 5.5 km/3.5 miles (shorter route)
  • Walk grading: Easy / moderate

Pub Walk 2: Great Orme Historical Trail

Approximately 2.5 hours

The landscape is rich in historical remains, from the Bronze age copper mines to the Second World War artillery school. Two walks start from the summit of the Great Orme (right by the carpark) which can be combined to make a longer walk.

What kind of walk is it?

  • Terrain: Grassy paths, tracks and roads. The paths are steep in places, so good walking shoes and boots are recommended
  • Distance: Route A is 4.2 miles/6.7 km; Route B 3.2 miles/5.2 km. Allow 2½ hours for Route A, about 2 hours for Route B
  • Walk grading: Easy / Moderate

Pub Walk 3: Little Orme

Approximately 2 hours

The smaller limestone headland to the side of Llandudno Bay with stories of quarrying, an early printing press and bronze age finds.

What kind of walk is it?

  • Paths: Flat, uneven, steep in places and close to some cliff edges. Surfaced tracks, pavement, grass and rocks. Some kissing gates
  • Distance: 5.1km, 3.2miles
  • Walk grading: Easy / moderate

Pub Walk 4: Nant y Gamar

Approximately 2 hours

A beautiful area of limestone grassland noted for the Juniper that grows there. Discover an old quarry, woodlands and the location of an old maze.

What kind of walk is it?

  • Paths: Gradual climbs through woodland and over limestone grassland. A fairly steep, grassy path downhill. Pavements, grass, woodland with some uneven ground. Kissing gates. One stone stile near the start of the walk.
  • Distance: 5.9km, 3.7 miles
  • Walk grading: Easy / moderate

Stunning views overlooking the estuary and Conwy castle on the horizon.

  • Paths: Some gradual slopes and uneven ground. Pavement, grass, surfaced tracks. Can be muddy depending on the weather. Stiles and gates
  • Distance: 3.6km, 2.2 miles
  • Walk grading: Easy
