The pub always has a great atmopshere over the festive period with many people out to spread the Christmas cheer! We feature some great Christmas guest ales that are brewed just for the season along with steaming mulled wine. Mix these with our roaring open fire, our cosy surroundings and our friendly bar team, and we really have a recipe for a fantastic Christmas!!
Our 3 course Christmas menu combines all things traditional along with some new and original dishes. Our Christmas menu will run alongside our normal menu from Friday 1st December until Thursday 21st December 2017.
Roasted butternut squash and chilli soup with sage dumplings (v,gfo)
Chicken, pork and cranberry terrine, mulled wine pear chutney and crispy French toast
Crispy camembert and apple fritter parcels with a blackberry and apple compôte (v)
Gin cured salmon, cucumber and lime crème fraiche and buttermilk and dill blinis (gfo)
Spicy crab cakes with lemon dressed salad and celeriac and welsh mustard remoulade
Roast crown of turkey and braised goose bon bon, goose fat roast potatoes, buttered new potatoes, seasonal vegetables, sage and onion stuffing and roasting pan gravy (gfo)
Goats cheese, leek, garlic and spinach linguine, white wine cream sauce, toasted pine nuts, basil oil and beetroot crisps (v)
Roast sirloin of British beef (cooked medium), Yorkshire pudding, wild mushroom and brandy cream sauce, roast and new potatoes and seasonal vegetables (gfo)
Pan fried fillet of hake, cannellini bean and shellfish broth and herb aioli (gf)
Confit leg of duck, fondant potato, roasted carrots and rosemary, broccoli florets and a port wine and juniper berry jus (gf)
Slow cooked Welsh lamb casserole, roasted Ratte potatoes, sticky red cabbage and French beans (gf)
Vegetarian nut roast, roast potatoes, buttered new potatoes, honey roast parsnips, carrots, broccoli and cider cream sauce (v)
Luxury homemade christmas pudding with homemade brandy sauce
Sticky toffee pudding, salted caramel ice cream and butterscotch sauce (gfo)
Baked plum pudding with vanilla custard
Cherry trifle finished with a chocolate and hazelnut crumb
Chocolate and raspberry roulade, white chocolate jelly and cinnamon cream

Booking & Pre-orders
Christmas bookings must be made by telephone or in person ONLY, they cannot be booked through our online system. Please call 01492 870 762 to check availability and book your table now. Minimum party size of 6 people.
The pre-order is required no less than 14 days before dining. A non refundable deposit of £10 per head is required at the point of booking. Please return the pre-order form to email@example.com or pop it into the pub.
